Nervous - not yet!

I will say this upfront and it may come back to haunt me. For a very long time I have fancied myself as a boxer. It is one sport that I thought.......I could be good at that rather then just a trier as per my considerable other sporting endeavours. Given I have never boxed before, this appears farfetched but there you go.

So now I have the opportunity in the late spring (or perhaps early summer) of my life to put my money where my mouth is. Tonight begins my training for a White Collar boxing event to be staged at the Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 28th November. And I'm excited!

This is the deal - 3 sessions a week with the Malaysia National training team up to fight night.

So join me on my journey which continues my Malaysian Living Theme of giving it a go! The trials and tribulations of seeking the boxer within. I'm sure he lurks somewhere and we have 11 weeks to find him........otherwise I'm in trouble!!

Here are some websites that give more background on the type of event we are talking about.

Hi Jono.

Congratulations on signing up for your boxing match. I hope it will go well for you. I think you will enjoy the training very much, even though it will be difficult.

I'm a fellow boxer in Chicago, Illinois, USA. I have a blog, too, where I report on my own training and adventures as a boxer.

I look forward to reading your updates and want to offer encouragement as you begin your training. I think you will have a blast with it!
